To me personally George Lazenby had the same starting humor as Pierce Brosnan as James Bond.
Nevertheless, despite his humor, Pierce Brosnan is still the James Bond who has killed the most in the James Bond movies
George Lazenby only killed 5 people compared to Pierce Brosnan who killed 135 people...

That is why Roger Moore who played Bond in For Your Eyes Only kills Blofeld in the opening sequence to make a statement that the franchise can continue without SPECTRE because they couldnt acquire the rights back from the co-author Kevin McClory who wrote Thunderball with Ian Fleming but had total control over the SPECTRE and its villains characters like Ernst Stavro Blofeld (The Head of Spectre)
And that also explains why The name of the organisation was not mentioned during the first three movies when Daniel Craig played 007 since the legal rights where not acquired yet. only from SPECTRE the bond movie in 2015 the producers were allowed to use spectre’s name and Blofeld made an introduction in the James Bond films again.
Due to the copyright infringement, Never Say Never Again (1983) could not officially be considered a James Bond film. As a result, Sean Connery has officially 6 films to his account and Roger Moore 7. And Never Say Never Again was actually a remake from Thunderball. Since EON productions and MGM owned the james bond theme, there was no gun-barrel scene in Never Say Never Again with the famous James Bond tune. On the other hand, the producers of Never Say Never Again were allowed to use SPECTRE with its octopus logo and its main rival Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the film.
The reason why the movie was called Never Say Never Again is because When Sean Connery quit in Diamonds are Forever in 1971 he sweared never to play James Bond again….
What is also interesting to know is that every James Bond movie is actually a stand alone movie, except from Casino Royale. From Casino Royale to No Time To Die is actually one movie but in 5 parts. Quantum of Solace is a sequel to Casino Royale, SkyFall sequel to Quantum of Solace and so on. It is all one big movie. So the character James Bond dies but more as a farewell to Daniel Craig as the character James Bond.
